Every teacher in every classroom along the Pathway uses the same set of Developmental Milestones to observe and assess each child’s learning and growth. Through our unique Cycle of Intentional Planning, teachers use these assessments as well as knowledge of children’s interests to customize Weekly Lesson Plans, so learning goals are personalized for every child!
In every program, we guide 21st century learners on their journey to elementary school—and the future.*
Simply put, STEAM means Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics.
This educational approach integrates the arts and sciences throughout classroom areas, as well as in lessons and daily routines. It connects academic skills to practical application so learning becomes meaningful to children’s everyday lives and encourages children to think about what they’re learning in a more connected, holistic way.
Nurturing inquisitive minds and inspiring curiosity. Experiments and experiences with the natural world, with living and non-living things, enable children to develop important scientific process skills, such as observing, questioning, comparing, and predicting.
Learning to work with tools (both digital and otherwise). As 21st century learners, children will need to develop the technological skills necessary to navigate an ever-changing world. Age-appropriate smart devices and apps will be available to enhance daily learning.
Helping children to express ideas and communicate. Creative experiences in language arts, visual arts, dramatic arts, and musical arts foster positive forms of collaboration and communication, as children develop self-expression skills.
Guiding children to apply logic and understanding to systems. Tangible, engaging math experiences supported by a variety of resources (including natural materials) help children develop in mathematical process areas such as problem-solving, measuring, and reasoning.
This program for enhanced learning opportunities features four expansive enrichment experiences. These focused explorations of unique subjects go beyond fundamental learning and broaden each child’s horizons.*

Just like scientists, very young children learn about the world around them by experimenting and trying new ways of doing things. The bonds they form with warm, nurturing teachers and the stimulating environment of this classroom form the foundation for future STEAM learning.
Energy and excitement are a natural part of growth and learning. We channel that energy into positive learning experiences, providing plenty of room to move and explore, while young minds are prepared for later STEAM learning.
Learning experiences in these classrooms address the evolving developmental needs of this increasingly mobile age group, while milestone development continues to be guided by our exclusive Learn from the Start™ curriculum in developmental areas such as:
Learning experiences continue to follow our exclusive Learn from the Start™ curriculum, as we ensure that children are meeting important milestones, while building that foundation for STEAM learning in Preschool and beyond.
Children also learn to work with others, develop self-help skills, and follow directions and routines. Visual “Children’s Tools” enable them to take charge of actions and behaviors, gain independence, and to be successful, confident, and empowered. These tools include:
Picture Schedule: Children learn to follow routines and schedules while beginning to understand the different parts of the day.
“I Can” Posters: Clear, step-by-step picture directions guide hand washing, using the bathroom, and more, encouraging children to do more for themselves and be confident.
Class Expectations Signs: Expectations for classroom behaviors are illustrated, focusing children on ways to be safe, kind, and responsible, while also having fun.
In Pre-Kindergarten, personalized learning experiences continue to be guided by our STEAM-focused, research-based curriculum, Explorer 21™, while we guide children through 10 significant developmental areas, including:
Creative Arts | Literacy | Early Math | Nature & Science | Social-Emotional Development
The exclusive My Best Self! program curriculum for school-age students encourages:

This program focuses on community involvement and good citizenship. We learn to be involved, how to lend a helping hand, and how to create strong, positive connections—in our classroom, with friends, at home, in our communities, and in the world.
Through lessons in nutrition and hands-on experiences with food, we’re working to establish healthy eating habits, by exploring different types of food (shapes, texture, etc.) and participating in the preparation (and eating) of some simple, healthful recipes.
We’re bringing an exciting exploration of culture and creativity to the classroom. Children discover a variety of significant artists, art forms, and modes of expression. Then, children create their own mini masterpieces in the styles of these art movements.
It’s our very own world’s fair! Travel the globe, without leaving the school. In this global exploration of international cultures and languages, children will experience the sights, sounds, and tastes of a variety of cultures from around the world.
Fun, interactive stories with unique characters demonstrate chess fundamentals. Hands-on activities reinforce knowledge. Chess has been proven to positively impact academic performance, verbal and mathematic skills, boost emotional intelligence, and instill confidence.
45-60 minute chess lessons
“Chessercises” get kids moving like chess pieces
Chess tournaments for children to practice their game
Preschool Prodigies is a series of video music lessons designed to bring meaningful and accessible musical play to the classroom. Even without any prior musical experience, your child will be singing in tune and playing their first musical instrument!
Video lessons focus on playing music and singing, plus tapping and clapping rhythms
Musical games and small-group activities
Workbooks featuring sheet music, musical concepts, and other preschool skills
Innovation and problem-solving encourage children’s natural curiosity and imaginations to soar. Storytelling about actual inventors and inventions introduces STEM concepts, leading to hands-on STEM projects to encourage independent thinking, creativity, and exploration.
